Scoring

Scored on the NREMT skill sheets

EMT skills exams score patient assessment on the National Registry's sheets, and every graded EMT scenario here is scored on the same ones. Your score is out of the sheet's 42 points, and Medceptor never adds points of its own: giving aspirin for chest pain, for example, counts through the sheet's Interventions line, not as a bonus.

Medical · E202

42 points, transport within 15 minutes

History taking carries 13 points and the primary survey 10. The critical criteria, from PPE to the report to the arriving unit, fail the station on their own.

Trauma · E201

42 points, transport within 10 minutes

The head-to-toe secondary assessment carries 19 points. The critical criteria add spinal protection and high-concentration oxygen.

Your performance is evaluated by an autonomous AI grading system. Scores are for instructional self-assessment only and are not predictive of the NREMT, the NCLEX or any other certification exam.

Scenarios

100+ EMT scenarios

Medical calls span cardiac, respiratory, allergic, endocrine, neurological, toxicology, behavioral, obstetric and environmental emergencies. Trauma calls cover bleeding, burns, fractures, and head, chest and spine injuries. Pediatric and geriatric patients are in the mix.

  • A patient with their own history, medications and personality
  • Findings you only get by checking for them
  • Vitals that change as the call goes on, based on your care
  • A debrief that marks every line of the sheet earned or missed

Question bank

Questions for the knowledge exam

EMT questions are sorted into the five domains the NREMT EMT exam has been organized around since April 2025: scene size-up and safety, primary assessment, secondary assessment, patient treatment and transport, and operations. Drill one domain at a time and read a worked explanation after every answer, right or wrong.

Questions

Asked & answered.

Is this an NREMT practice test?

Partly. The question bank is exam-style practice for the knowledge exam, with an explanation on every answer, but the EMT track doesn't have a timed, full-length mock exam. The scenarios cover what a practice test can't: running a whole patient assessment, graded on the NREMT's medical and trauma skill sheets.

Which NREMT skill sheets are EMT scenarios graded on?

Medical calls are graded on Patient Assessment/Management: Medical (E202) and trauma calls on Patient Assessment/Management: Trauma (E201). Each is worth 42 points, and your score is out of those 42: Medceptor never adds points of its own.

What fails a scenario?

The same thing that fails a skills station: any critical criterion on the sheet, such as not stating PPE precautions, not checking scene safety before you approach, or not giving oxygen the patient needs. One critical criterion fails the attempt no matter how many points you earned, and your debrief says which one and why.

Do you cover the other skills stations, like BVM or splinting?

No. Medceptor simulates patient assessment calls. You can order ventilation, splinting or bleeding control during a scenario, but the hands-on skills stations themselves need a manikin and an instructor, so they aren't graded here.

Is Medceptor affiliated with the NREMT?

No. Medceptor is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. NREMT is their registered trademark.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The free plan includes three EMT scenarios, fully graded, and 15 practice questions a month. No card needed.
