Patient simulations and NCLEX practice for nursing students

Practice at the bedside with an AI patient, then see how your clinical judgment scored, step by step. Medceptor covers seven nursing tracks: CNA, LPN, RN, CCRN, CEN, FNP-C and FNP-BC.

LPN and RN

NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN

LPN and RN simulations are scored on the six steps of the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model, plus communication, safety and professionalism, so you see which step of your thinking cost you points, not just the final answer.

  1. 1. Recognize cues
  2. 2. Analyze cues
  3. 3. Prioritize hypotheses
  4. 4. Generate solutions
  5. 5. Take action
  6. 6. Evaluate outcomes

Bedside simulations

75+ LPN and 70+ RN scenarios, each graded item by item when you finish.

Question bank

NCLEX-style questions sorted by client needs category, including Next Generation NCLEX item types, with an explanation on every answer.

Adaptive practice exam

A computer-adaptive exam that picks each question based on your earlier answers and stops when it can estimate where you stand, the way the NCLEX does.

Your performance is evaluated by an autonomous AI grading system. Scores are for instructional self-assessment only and are not predictive of the NREMT, the NCLEX or any other certification exam.

CNA

Certified nursing assistant

15+ nurse aide scenarios scored pass/fail on personal care, safety, and observing and reporting, plus a question bank and a timed practice exam built on the NNAAP written exam's content areas. The practice exam covers the written test; the skills demonstration isn't part of it.

CCRN and CEN

Critical care and emergency nursing

40+ CCRN and 15+ CEN high-acuity simulations, specialty question banks and timed practice exams. CEN scenarios are scored on triage with the Emergency Severity Index, focused assessment, time-critical interventions and disposition.

FNP-C and FNP-BC

Family nurse practitioner

60+ diagnose-and-treat primary care encounters, a separate question bank for each board (AANP's FNP-C and ANCC's FNP-BC), and a full-length timed practice exam for each.

Questions

Asked & answered.

Which nursing exams does Medceptor cover?

Seven tracks: CNA, LPN (NCLEX-PN), RN (NCLEX-RN), CCRN, CEN, and family nurse practitioner for both boards (FNP-C from AANP and FNP-BC from ANCC). You pick one when you sign up, and everything you practice is scoped to that exam.

How are nursing simulations scored?

LPN and RN simulations are scored on the six steps of the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (recognize cues, analyze cues, prioritize hypotheses, generate solutions, take action and evaluate outcomes), plus communication, safety and professionalism. CNA scenarios are scored pass/fail, and CEN scenarios include ESI triage.

Is the NCLEX practice exam adaptive?

Yes, for LPN and RN. Like the NCLEX, it picks each question based on your earlier answers and stops once it has enough to estimate where you stand, so its length varies. CNA, CCRN, CEN and FNP have fixed-length practice exams.

Is Medceptor affiliated with NCSBN?

No. Medceptor is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NCSBN, AACN, BCEN, AANP or ANCC. NCLEX is a registered trademark of NCSBN.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The free plan includes three starter scenarios on every nursing track, fully graded, and 15 practice questions a month. No card needed.
